City to Gondo: One more time on that Sharky's story, eh?

Bob: In this morning's paper, the headline says "FAA: City should consider selling Sharky's"

First, the FAA is saying that there is a piece of property that goes through the Sharky's leasehold that is on airport property. The rest of it is city owned property, along with the pier. FAA is suggesting that strip that belongs to the airport should be purchased by the city and the money from the sale go to the airport enterprise fund. Sharky's is actually a business that is privately owned. The business leases the land it is on from the city.

Secondly, in the Let Em Have It line, there is a mention that City Hall employees only work 37 hours a week. While that used to be true, the schedule has been amended and since January 2009 union employees work 8 hours a day, not including their lunch time, and do not get paid overtime until they work more than 8 hours a day. Salaried employees usually work more than 40 hours a week with no additional pay for hours worked beyond 40.

Thanks, Pam
